Mission Statement

Satisfaction through Service--Giving Time and Talent
The Society for Conscious Craft was founded for the purpose of helping its members (and everyone else) find personal and spiritual fulfillment by using their talents and interests in service of others.

Who we are: SSC members are people just like you who want to make the world a better place by giving of ourselves. The Society for Conscious Craft is an inclusive organization and does not discriminate based on race, creed, color, physical or mental ability, age, gender identity or preference, education, financial status, political affiliation, or geographical location.  Everyone with the desire to give has something to contribute.
What we do: We look for ways to give of ourselves and try to help others seeking ways to do the same.  SSC members act alone or in group, some efforts are public, others private.  Fame or recognition is not the primary goal. Satisfaction is in the giving.  We help each other find ways to use our skills, talents, and experience in service others. SSC members give their time, skills and talents to causes close to their hearts, in their communities and world wide.
Giving is not limited to charitable efforts. Many people serve through their career. Doctors, nurses, firemen, police, paramedics, epidemiologists, teachers, celebrants, clergy, and sanitation workers for example, even shopping mall Santas all make a positive contribution to our world. For some, membership in SCC is about remembering that a job can be about more than a salary.  When we focus on how what we do contributes to the world around us, (even in our one-to-one interactions) we find satisfaction beyond the paycheck. The time and effort we put into our work become more worth while.
The role of the Society is to provide inspiration, support, and resources for those seeking a way to give of themselves. . As we find resources and ideas for giving, we will post them here to share, as well as the suggestions and stories of our members.
What we don’t do:  While we hope to do and encourage great things, the Society for Conscious Craft is in it infancy. At this time we don’t have the infrastructure or legal status to properly handle donations. Therefore, SCC does not accept donations or distribute them.
Our goal: At this time, we want to inspire a grass roots effort.  The SCC wants to inspire you to give of your time and talent directly. Act on your own, form a group with friends, family, or coworkers.  Focus on areas where you feel there is a need. Whether your efforts support people, animals, or the environment, the important thing is that you get out there and give.
